OUR HISTORY

The facility was officially opened by the Hon. Ted Lindsay M.P. on 4th December 1993 as a hostel catering for (38) permanent and (2) respite residents.

The Aged Care Act 1997 saw the facility change to embrace “Ageing in Place” – thus providing a continuum of care from Low to High Care without the necessity to change rooms.

In 2003 a new wing was added to the facility upgrading the centre to 48 permanent beds, 2 funded respite beds and 1 unfunded respite bed. Three year Accreditation was granted in January 2008.
